Confirmed-please pray for Carly's family A body believed to be that of a Traverse City teenager who went missing in early June has been found hidden in a sand pile outside a city building on the eve of her 17th birthday, authorities said. The body was found Tuesday evening outside a Traverse City public works building after a 17-year-old boy told investigators he killed Carly Lewis, Traverse City Police Capt. Brian Heffner told the Traverse City Record-Eagle. Authorities were working to confirm the identity of the body, WWMT and WWTV-WWUP reported. The 17-year-old boy was arrested and jailed on suspicion of murder, the newspaper reported. His name wasn?t immediately released. The teen agreed to a polygraph examination at a Michigan State Police facility in Grayling and later told police he had killed Lewis, Heffner said, A person who answered the telephone at the Traverse City police department early Wednesday says no one was immediately available to discuss the case. A news conference was planned for later Wednesday morning. Police had said the girl was considered an endangered missing person. She was last seen the evening of June 2 after she left a friend?s home. Her disappearance sparked a search that reached to communities around the northern Lower Peninsula city. Heffner said investigators believe Lewis died the evening that she disappeared, and that no one else was involved. Family and friends embraced her mother, Susie Lewis, Tuesday evening outside her home. Her daughter?s 17th birthday was to be Wednesday. She said she took some relief from the knowledge that her daughter likely died the same night she disappeared. ?This is the only good thing, that she didn?t suffer for all these days,? Susie Lewis said. (original article) TRAVERSE CITY -- The Traverse City Police Department is asking for help finding a missing teenager. Carly Lewis, Missing Teen, Spurs Boardman Lake Search
Posted On: 6/14/2011
Police have searched abandoned buildings and Boardman Lake. Tomorrow is Carly's 17th birthday, they think this could have something to do with her disappearance.

Bit by bit, police are piecing together the day Carly was last seen. During the day on June 2nd, she texted a friend about meeting up at Glen's that evening, but surveillance video shows, she never made it there.

Police and the FBI are looking everywhere for her. Today, K9 units searched the Tart Trail and Boardman Lake, where friends say Carly hung out often.

Police are using lie detector tests to verify tips from people. There is a $2,500 reward for information that leads to Carly
