Crime Stoppers and family members are hoping billboards and media attention will draw out witnesses in the 2007 disappearance of Ryan Esparza.
Esparza, then 17, was last seen June 14, 2007, in Highlands Park in Pasadena with his friends. Police suspect foul play, but the case is still open.
"They went to the park, hung out there, and then he went his own way, and that was the last they saw of him," says Sandra Rodriguez of Crime Stoppers. Investigators hope that after four years, people who know something about Esparza's disappearance are ready to come forward and talk.
Rodriguez says Esparza's family and Clear Channel have partnered to put up billboard ads about the case at three intersections in Pasadena.
Esparza was last seen wearing a white T-shirt; red, white, and blue plaid long shorts; and white tennis shoes. He is 5-foot-7, weighs 160 pounds, and has brown hair and brown eyes.
Anyone with information on Esparza can reach Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477. Crime Stoppers is offering rewards of up to $5,000.
